Subject: Virus Notices
Date: June 21th, 2002

Customers may receive emails from CSInet stating someone has attempted to send a virus. These viruses are removed at CSInet before the email's are sent out and it's just a friendly reminder that we are monitoring any virus activity before it effects our customers. These emails that originally contained the virus can be deleted.

We still recommend our users to be protected my using an antivirus program such as Norton Antivirus 2002 to keep your PC safe from new viruses.

Subject: U.S. asks court to decide on Net porn filters - Critics say filters block legitimate material
Date: June 20th, 2002

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The United States asked the Supreme Court Thursday to overturn a federal court ruling that prohibits withholding money from public libraries that don't install computer software to block sexually explicit Web sites.

 Microsoft, the software giant, was said to have "accidentally" spread the dangerous Nimda virus to Asia through infected versions of its Visual Studio .NET. More.


Subject: Microsoft haunted by three new flaws
Date: June 16th, 2002

 Haunted by the endless vulnerabilities in its programs, Microsoft this Wednesday alerted for yet three more. The flaws affect IIS 4.0 and 5.0; Windows NT 4.0, 2000 and XP; and the Microsoft SQLXML. With two of them classified as Moderate and one as Critical, the software giant urges users once again to download the available patches. More.

Subject: Users alerted for serious Excel flaw

 In spite of efforts to convince consumers that it would clean up its software lines, Microsoft's programs are still suffering from several bugs. While the big winner is the Internet Explorer browser and its endless vulnerabilities, other well-known products are also affected by flaws. One example is the Office member, Excel. More here.


Subject: Opera: Flaw found, flaw fixed

 GreyMagic is alerting for a flaw in the Opera browser that has been considered quite critical because it allows reading of any local file. The company has been advised of the problem earlier last month and has fixed it in a new version. More.


Subject: Windows XP bug
Date: June 3rd, 2002

 Microsoft has discovered that if Windows Media Player for Windows XP Home/Professional is in Pause mode, the computer may not be able to get to Standby mode. Microsoft hasn't discovered a fix. So far, the only workaround is to avoid Pause to achieve Standby.


Subject: DirectX 9.0 Beta 1 released
Date: June 2nd, 2002

 While the press tries to spot products supporting Microsoft's future DirectX 9.0 technology, the software giant is now releasing the first beta version of the product itself.
