Frequently Asked Questions
What is "Adult Content Filtering" or "XSTOP"?
  • Adult Content Filtering ("XSTOP") is the latest offering from CSInet Internet Access Corp.
  • The purpose is to stop web access to adult websites.

What does it cost?

  • XSTOP is a FREE service, but you must request that the XSTOP feature be activated for your account.

How do I turn it on?

  • The XSTOP service is very easy to activate: just tell us you want it. You don't need to change anything on your PC! Simply 'sign up' and we'll take care of the rest.

How does it work?

  • When you request the XSTOP feature, we mark your account so that all of your web browsing passes through a server that filters out the adult content. The XSTOP filter server is located in our Network Operations Center, and is automatically updated every day.
  • When anyone using your account tries to access a web site that has adult material, XSTOP will block it and display a web page indicating that access to that site is denied.

Will it stop adult emails?

  • XSTOP does not filter emails; just web pages. However, XSTOP will block the links to sites associated with pictures in adult emails.
  • If you would like to block email spam, visit 'Help To Prevent Spam' section and follow the instructions to submit the spam for filtering.

How do I turn it off?

  • You'll need to give us a call, and we can turn it off for you.
  • You'll need to provide us with information that verifies you are indeed the person paying for the account.
  • Once we verify that you are the one paying for the account, simply request that the XSTOP service be removed. There is no charge for removing XSTOP.

How can I tell if XSTOP is working?

  • Click here to test XSTOP.
